My first book: Heart to heart: A Discipleship and Mentoring is a guidebook for those with a heart to share God’s word. This book helps those who desire to lead large or small groups whether they are in church, at home, or out in the community.
As the world becomes darker and darker, the small groups established with God’s leading can become places of sharing God’s word, supporting one another, and reaching out to the lost or those in need. Heart to heart groups lead by spirit-filled Christian leaders can become a demonstration of God’s love in action. When believers reach out and share testimonies of God’s work in their lives, God works through them to demonstrate His transforming power and love to those around them.
In the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commands believers to “go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; (…).”
The Heart to heart Discipleship and Mentoring Plan does not tell the teacher-leader what to say. The teaching must be led by The Holy Spirit. This book does instruct leaders to keep Jesus at the center of their lives and their groups, to establish a personal relationship with God, to go to church authority and leaders with problems, how to set up a team meeting and establish small groups, how to choose materials, and how to help establish an atmosphere where each person can come and feel the love of God, and can freely share what’s on their heart without being fearful of others mocking or putting them down. Successful small groups must have an environment of love and safety in order for people to be confident and open their hearts to the love of other believers.
God has done a vast amount of healing in my heart by using the testimonies of other believers to help me. It’s comforting to know there are others who have gone through the horrible experiences we have in this life. God has led me to several Christian sisters who have spoken wisdom into my life over the years. I am thankful for the fellowship, love, and instruction they have given me.
Now I desire to pass this experience and love of God on to others through sharing God’s word, my experiences, the love of God in my heart, and the lessons God has used others to teach to me. Like Peter the Apostle said, “(…) Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: (…).” (Acts 3:6 KJV)
